Meet the Trainees

Trainee Therapist - Dance Movement Psychotherapy

Tamara is from South Africa, and currently living in Nottingham, completing her MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP). She has been volunteering at Imara as DMP Trainee Therapist and gaining experience in working with children who have faced trauma due to sexual abuse.

Previously she studied Drama, Psychology and Dance (BA) at the University of Cape Town and followed on with her Honours in Psychology (BA Honours).

She teaches Contemporary Dance and Creative Movement to young adults and children at various organisations.

In every context she works in, Tamara believes considering and making a safe space for all aspects of the person she is working with is key to their healing, creativity and integration.
